In Hanoi, trains depart at Hanoi train station – 120 Le Duan Street, Hanoi. In Sapa, trains leave at Lao Cai train station which is 40km (1 hour driving) from Sapa town.
Once the booking is confirmed and completed, we will send you the train voucher through your email. You will use that train voucher to exchange for the actual tickets at our ticket counter at the train station. Our VIP lounge is located next to the gate 2A on the 2nd floor of Hanoi train station. In Sapa, our Chapa Lounge is located at the waiting room no 2 in Lao Cai train station. You will exchange the voucher for the tickets at these places.
No, as long as you can carry the luggage onboard and take care of the luggage yourself.
Our ticket counters or check-in gates are only open about 1 hour before the departure time so you should not arrive too early. You should be at the train station about 1 hour before the departure time to exchange for the tickets at our ticket counters and get in.
Unfortunately there is no dinning carriage on our train. Our train leaves late at night so you should have dinner before boarding.
The toilet is outside of your cabin and it is located at the end of each carriage.
Both cabins are private 2 berth cabins (02 single beds in the cabins). However, the VIP 2 berth cabin is originally a Deluxe 4 berth cabin which is transferred to a 2 berth cabin by folding up 02 upper beds so you will see / use 02 lower beds. The SUITE 2 berth cabin is a real 2 berth cabin and it is located in the middle of the train so it will be less noisy than other cabins.
We are sorry that the prices are the best prices already. We are a luxury train so the prices are high. You will get what you pay for so please be cautious with cheaper prices since we cannot control either their prices or business. We only take care of the bookings made directly with us OR through our train’s website at: https://chapaexpress.com/
Yes, but only in Sapa. We have shared shuttle bus (mini van) or private car (4 seaters, 7 seaters, 16 seaters, 29 seaters) from Lao Cai train station to Sapa town or vice versa. It is about 40km uphill road so it takes about 1 hour driving.
In Hanoi, we do not have this service since Hanoi train station is located inside Hanoi city center so it is very easy and convenient for you to take a taxi from your hotel.
Please fill in all fields in the booking form below so we can serve you. Thank you!
